Chitragupt and Plastic Straw ( A short multipurpose skit)

Our awareness level is not matching with our actions for cutting down on single use plastic straws in spite of the fact the our oceans are flooded with single use plastic waste. We continue drinking with single use plastic straws in the name of hygiene, cost cutting, mismanagement and what not.

Yamlok and Chitragupt are widely known for afterlife stories in India. Enjoy the skit which gives us subtle msg on how to easily cut down on single use plastic straws with a little habit change.  And if we fail to do so, what is the future. All this msg with dialogues that add fun on social behavior of people and thinking pattern.

Lets act now to save environment, its good impacts will be definitely seen and felt sooner or later.

Scene 1: Yamlok 

(A lady entering a place, little scared and puzzled about the place)

Chitragupt: Aaiye Aaiye Yamlok me aapka Swagat hai. 

(Lady gets shock, thinks  and expresses)

Lady:  Are mai yamlok me aa gayi!! 

Chitragupt: Dariye mat, ab isse bura kuch nahi hoga aapke saath. 

Manager, bataiye inke achhe bure karmo ka lekhajokha. 

Manager: Ji Chitraguptji. (Taking out and opening an old big book. Saying while looking into it) 

Ye Sonali hai. Housewife hai. 

Na jyada taarif mili, na koi bada salary package, fir bhi inke liye hamesha family first. 

(lady giving mixed expression)  

Fashionable hai, modern jamane ke saath chalnevali, kabhi kisi ka bura nahi chaha. Ped paudho se bhi pyar karti hai. Ghar me bhi sab ka dhyan rakhti hai. 

Aur to aur Maayke jakar bhi kabhi sasural valo ki burai nahi ki. (lady feeling happy and proud). 

Aur sab se bada plus point jo isme likha hai ki jab se sarkar ne bola, kachara bhi geela, sukha aur E waste tak alag alag deti thi. Kabhi bhi mix nahi kiya (Lady feeling proud) 

Magar....

Lady: (anxiously) Magar kya?

manager: Magar ye hamesha har hafte 3 bar nariyel pani peeti thi vo bhi plastic ke straw se. 

Party, picnic, eating out ke straws to alag. 

Kul milakar abhi tak inhone 7000 se bhi jyada single use plastic straw ka waste generate kiya hai. 

Isme se kuch 10% hi recycle hue hai, baki 10% yaha vaha jamin par pade kachara aur pollution faila rahe hai, aur baki ke sab ke sab samandar me ja puhache hai. 

Vaha par abhi tak straws fasne ke vajah se 3000 se bhi jyada kachue, fish aur dusre marine animals mar chuke hai aur agle 500 saalo tak marte rahenge. 

Lady: (Trying to prove her innocence)

Suniye na chitraguptji, vo jo video tha na jisme ek bade kachue ki naak me plastic ka straw fans gaya tha, aur nikalte vaqt bahut khun aaya tha, usko dekh kar meri aankh me aansu bhi aa gaye they. Aur maine vo video like bhi kiya tha aur friends ke saath share bhi kiya tha. Thoda to sochiye na mere bare me please

Manager:  Computer Mahashay. Data please. ( Asking computer to verify the facts. On getting response)

Haan. Aapke liked videos me to dikh raha hai. 

Lekin madam sirf video like aur share karne se thodi na kuch hota hai. Aapko kuch thos kadam bhi uthane chahiye they. Aap jab Aasam ghumne gayi thi tab handicraft ka ek achha sa jhola liya tha na usme ek bamboo ya steel ka straw rakh leti to aaj ye halat nahi hoti. 

(Lady standing with sad face) 

Lady:  (Feeling shocked ) Nahi Nahi...muze kshama kijiye Chitaguptji..

Manager:  Are madam. Chinta mat karo. Aapko apne jaise bahut log narak me mil jayenge jo straw ki vajah se vaha fase hue hai. 

Chitragupt: Aapne Baki karmo ke saath paryavaran ka bhi dhyan rakha hota to aaj aapko sidhe Swarg me pravesh mil sakta tha. Ab aapko saja ke taur pe 10 sal narak me rehna padega aur agla janam kachua banke samandar me bitana padega.

Lady: Nahi nahi nahi

Chitragupt: Manager next koun hai?   


Scene 2: Lady's House

(Lady sleeping and waking up with loud screem.). NAHI.....

(On realizing it was a dream)

Lady: Are thank GOD ye sapna tha. Are vo sapne me manager ke saadi bahut achhi thi is bar anniversary pe vaisi hi kharidti hu. Lekin sabse pehle bamboo ke straw order karti hu. Muze swarg me jo jana hai. 

(Asking public/people who are watching....)

Aur aapko?
